After releasing my first big band album Tourists in 2015, I swore to myself that I would never start another large ensemble project. In that same week, I even discovered my first grey hairs. But inspiration would not let me go and just two years later, I found myself back in the studio, and by 2021 I released my first jazz-symphonic work.
My new album LIFE is the most personal and mature statement of my big band work so far. The compositions were written over the past few years – shaped, developed, and now captured for the first time in this recording. Each piece represents a window into a phase of my life. Life constantly surprises me, and that is exactly what I wanted to share through this music. The pieces evoke memories of special moments, challenges, and the people who have accompanied and inspired me along the way.
The music on LIFE is diverse and colorful: poetic soundscapes, vocals, and rock-influenced elements – music straight from the heart. The album is being released by the renowned ORF label as part of the Ö1 Jazz Contemporary series and presents my latest compositions.
